Miley Cyrus: Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Summary

Bret Michaels and Miley Cyrus are hoping their new release of Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” will return the song to the top of the charts by Christmas.

“The song is one of the reasons he refuses to speak to me anymore. Although I think me sleeping with his girlfriend of six years didn’t help either.”

As Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on the The View to talk about saving his marriage, producer Bret Michaels announced Miley Cyrus will release a new recording of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” later this year.

“Every Rose Has Its Thorn” was originally released by the band Poison in 1988, four years before Miley Cyrus was born, on their Open Up And Say… Ahh! album.

Although the song was a big hit in Britain and the U.S., Michaels said it caused problems with the band.

C.C. DeVille
C.C. DeVille stopped talking to Bret Michaels after first releasing "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" in 1988.

“The song is one of the reasons [C.C. DeVille] refuses to speak to me anymore. Although I think me sleeping with his girlfriend of six years didn’t help either,” Bret Michaels said in Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Roll.

The song became the band’s only number-one hit in the United States.

Michaels and Miley Cyrus are hoping the new release by the pop idol will return “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” to the top of the charts by Christmas.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn Lyrics

We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside

Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that’s why they say

[Chorus:]
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

Yeah it does
I listen to our favorite song
Playing on the radio
Hear the DJ say loves a game of easy come and easy go
But I wonder does he know
Has he ever felt like this
And I know that you’d be here right now
If I could let you know somehow
I guess
