Eighty-year-old actor Robert DeNiro is talking about fatherhood with AARP.
“I’m an 80-year-old dad and it’s great,” the octogenarian said.
The Hollywood star best known for his roles in The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Cape Fear, and Raging Bull said all his concerns and problems disappear around his newborn daughter.
“Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about …. this and that … just goes away when I look at her,” DeNiro said.
The Hollywood Reporter reports DeNiro “began to tear up” talking about fatherhood. “That in itself is wondrous,” the actor said.
“She has a very sweet kind of way of looking at you and just taking you in,” DeNiro said. “She’s thinking, she’s observing everything and watching it. It’s really interesting.”

The actor was talking with AARP about his seven-decade career with director Martin Scorsese and their latest film, the Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon, staring DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Daughter Gia is DeNiro’s seventh child and his first with 65-year-old girlfriend, film producer Tiffany Chen. He is also the grandfather of four.
