Kelsey Grammer is really happy.
At 55, the former Cheers and Frasier star said, “I’ve never been happier in my life.”
Two weeks after finalizing his divorce from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Donatacci Grammer, Kelsey Grammer said he’s not looking back.
He and Kayte Walsh are now officially husband and wife, the fourth marriage for Kelsey Grammer and first for the 29-year-old former Virgin Air flight attendant.
I remember reading once that on average first marriages lasted seven years, second marriages five years, and third marriages two to three years. I haven’t checked the statistics lately, but suspect the numbers are holding up. There’s not a lot of good research on fourth and fifth marriages.
“Kayte and I are marrying because we are engaged, and we are engaged because we are in love and see no reason to postpone our happiness any longer,” Kelsey Grammer said in December while hurrying along his divorce from the former Playboy lingerie model.
Camille Grammer said she thought her marriage of 13 years was strong when she signed on to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Camille Grammer, who has two young children with Kelsey, later charged that her husband lobbied to get her on the show so he’d be free to pursue his affair with the new Mrs. Grammer.
“Looking back, maybe he wanted to keep me preoccupied in California while he was off having his affair in New York,” she said.
Nevertheless, Camille Grammer said she wishes the couple well.
“I feel like I’m losing my best friend,” Camille said recently. “We spent many great years together and we’ve been through a lot. But at the end of the day, he’s made his decision and I’ll be fine.”
Camille Grammer has a new job providing commentary on the Oscars red carpet. She’ll be focusing on fashion for CNN Showbiz Tonight’s “Road to Gold” special.
Kelsey Grammer plunked down plenty of gold recently for a $6.5 million home for he and Kayte Walsh at 100 Eleventh Avenue in Manhattan. The couple hope to have plenty of time to enjoy views of the Hudson and walks in Central Park as the new Mrs. Grammer begins truly enjoying a life that must feel a long way from her $23,000 a year flight attendant job.
Of course, falling in love is the easy part. It’s natural to feel love for someone who’s a pleasure in our life. Recent pictures of Kelsey Grammer and the former Kayte Walsh making out during a Miami Beach vacation made it clear that he’s enjoying affections that were missing in what Camille Grammer said was a sexless marriage.
Now the real work begins.
Kelsey Grammer has lots of experience knowing what works – and what doesn’t – when it comes to sustaining love.
Friends, family, and fans can only hope Kayte and Kelsey Grammer will now create a life where early passions can grow into true love built on shared interests, meaningful conversations, safety to confide emotions, and continuing to enjoy the affection that’s clearly left Kelsey Grammer feeling very happy.
